I enjoy how these tall spindly trees grow, seeking the light. Aspen are a prolific tree in the mountains around Park City Utah and I made many photographs of them while hiking high up the bare slopes of the ski resort in early Spring.

Hiking to Washington Pass in the North Cascades provided inspiring images for this and future paintings.
