The classic image of a shepherd and his flock was captured outside Jerusalem town in the rolling countryside of Israel. When I travel I enjoy making small watercolor sketches in a hand made journal that I make specifically for the trip. I enjoy the quick, first impression, sketches so much that I thought I would try sizing one up and painting on canvas. The feeling wasn't the same as being on location but the result was similar and I enjoyed the process.
